The City of London Corporation announced plans in 2019 to move Billingsgate, Smithfield and New Spitalfields Market to a new site in Dagenham. However, only Billingsgate and Smithfield are relocating to Dagenham after plans were approved by the City of London Corporation in November 2022.
New Spitalfields Market will remain in its Leyton home for the time being, but could join Billingsgate and Smithfield later on.
